Ichabod...Not a Crane...Not in a Pear Tree Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Gat R Done: As there's been no cache to find for months and I have not heard back from you, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Please be advised that archiving is intended to be permanent. Help Center Article

Geocache Description:

While this could be considered a P&G, you'll still have to want it! Reaching it -- comfortably -- will be a stretch for some. It's not positioned for a TOTT to help. Be respectful of flora as not to create an obvious geotrail.. Down a quiet road, but don't even try a find when there's an event in this park. You'll stand out like a peacock at this GZ. You'll see the container is "different" in Minnesota-speak. This is my first hide; anxious to hear what you think.

Ichabod Crane is the central character in the "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving.  At the climax of the story, Crane is pursued by the spectral headless horseman who hurls a jack-o-lantern at the terrified Crane.

In naming this cache, I'm having a little fun with the Legend of Sleepy Hollow by playing fast and loose with the characters and their roles in the story as well as the beloved carol "12 days of Christmas". You'll see when you find the cache.

This cache is down a normally quiet dirt road, so on most visits you'll encounter no one. But if there's an event going on in this park, don't even try. There's no reason for normal park users to go where you'll have to if you want this find.

BYOP as this cache is actually has two containers.  The log is inside a secondary container nested in the exterior container which provides "the hide."  Please leave the exterior container where it is and only remove the interior container to sign the log. Then replace the interior container and close up the exterior container just as you found it. You'll see.

Be cautious of the flora in which the cache is secured. It wouldn't take much to break down a "geotrail" an make this cache evident to muggles and reduce the fun for your fellow geocachers.

Congratulations to Red_Devil35 on the First to Find for my first hide. I hope she enjoyed the $10.00 gift card inside the exterior container for a prominent nearby business. Looking to make another hide soon!
