Geocache Description:

This Cache is located on the peaceful grounds of the Historical Sharp Presbyterian Church in Sharp Tx. This beautiful area is maintained in memory of all the men and women who served this church as elders. Improvements to this part of the grounds started in 1995 when the largest live oak tree was planted by the Sharp Hobby club in memory of Nelson Davis. Mr Davis was a local business man, land owner, and rancher. Mr Davis owned and operated the Davis cotton gin and serviced the church as an elder until his death in 1995. In the spring of 2008, seven more live oak trees were donated and planted in memory of Jerry A Harbuz. Mr Harbuz passed away at age 95 in December of 07. Mr Harbuz was also a local business man. He and his wife, Mrs Robert Dean Harbuz owned and operated the Harbuz Garage and Grocery. Locally known as the Harbuz store. They sold Mobil fuel, Auto Parts, and grocery items. Mr Harbuz repaired cars, truck, and tractors. Mr Harbuz specialized in buses. He kept up the buses for the Sharp School district, as well as made repairs for many other schools in the area. You might say he was the original "Sharp bus nut". After Sharp consolidated with Rockdale, Mr Harbuz worked as the Transportation Director for the Rockdale ISD. He retired from RISD in 1994. Thur the years, Mr Harbuz volunteered countless hours working to clean up the grounds and maintaining the church. Mrs Harbuz served as an elder until her death in 2012. She was 95. The benches were donated in her memory. Each year we try to add something and make improvements. Please take time to read the historical marker it front of the church. The church is generally unlocked and you are welcome to go inside. Just be respectful if you visit at a time there is an event going on. Worship services are at 10:30 AM the first Sunday of each month. We try to have a communion service on the fifth Sunday. So come join us. The Sharp Hobby club meets the second Thursday of each month. The present building was constructed in 1902 but the congregation dates back into the 1800. Hope you enjoy this cache and your time in our quiet little community.

The board of elders has granted permission for this cache. Most of the neighbors know about the cache and are Geo cache friendly.

You are looking for a camo pill bottle cache. It contains log only so bring a pen. While not a park-and-grab, it's pretty close: more of a park-and-walk-a-short-distance-and-grab. Thank You, and again enjoy this cache.

Congratulations to dilloman for the First To Find! And for posting the great photo of the sign and military truck. I try to keep something interesting on the grounds.
