Geocache Description:

Nice bush walk with views of Lowry Bay and Wellington Harbour.

This Loom band filled cache is a sistema container-small luchbox size.  Loom band making is a current craze in 2014.  Contains pen and logbook and lots of loom band bracelets.

This Geocache journey takes you on the Dillion Street Track which connects Point Howard and Lowry Bay.

The geocache is located near the site of Jackson House and less than a metre from the track.   A plaque has been placed beside the bricks on the track to mark the site of the first House in Lowry Bay built by James and Emma Jackson in 1841.

The Jacksons were pioneer farmers but the steep bushy terrain and the isolation defeated them.

The orginal approach to the site was by track from the Port Road side of Point Howard.

The effects of the 1855 earthquake eventually destroyed the house and just the bricks remain.
