Kao javna visokoškolska ustanova veleučilište je utemeljeno 21.05.1998. godine Odlukom Vlade Republike Hrvatske. Veleučilište je nastao na temeljima Acacademie Possegane (1763.-1774.) te je napokon ostvaren cilj otvaranja visoke škole u Požegi. Zgrada veleučilišta se nalazi na mjestu nekadašnje zgrade JNA. Na veleučilištu danas postoje razni smjerovi, npr. računovodstvo; trgovina; upravni studij; vinogradar,vinar,voćar; prehrambena trgovina te trgovinsko poslovanje.
U neposrednoj blizini veleučilišta i Gimnazije nalaze se sportski tereni i manji park sa pozornicom zanimljiva oblika na kojoj se povremeno održavaju različite manifestacije.

As a public institution of higher education, polytechnic was founded on 21 May 1998. Croatian Government decided that college will be built on the foundations of Acacademie Possegane (from 1763 to 1774) and finally accomplished the goal of opening a high school in Požega. The building of the college is located on the site of the former building of the JNA. At the polytechnic today there are various studies, such as accounting; administrative studies; winegrower, winemaker, fruit; food trade and trade activities. There are sports facilities and a small park near the college, with a stage of interesting shape where various manifestations are occasionally held.
