Clueless Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

teamajk: I checked on this one today and while it was in place, it wasn't in great shape. The ammo can had somehow gotten wet inside and there was lots of rust and the contents, while still bagged, were wet and quite nasty. It hasn't seen a lot of traffic lately so I'm going to go ahead and let it go. Thanks to all who visited.

Geocache Description:

There is nothing hidden at the posted coordinates, but they are a good place to park. Please note that this cache is not accessible from Route 13. Solve the puzzle to find the cache. Advice on making your approach to GZ and a hide hint will be given on successful geocheck. Please rehide the cache carefully with any and all available camo. Terrain is not difficult but could be muddy, so wear boots. Bug spray is a must this time of year. I don't think there is poison ivy at the final location, but I could have dragged the container through some while scouting locations .... if you're extremely sensitive, wear gloves when handling it. There is an unactivated trackable tag for the FTF and some kid-friendly swag.

I thought I'd try my hand at another crossword-style puzzle, and obey the rules about symmetry this time.  Many thanks to professional puzzle-maker Mrs. yurtles for testing the puzzle for me.

This crossword is clueless, literally! But, I'll give you two important pieces of information.

1) Every letter of the alphabet appears somewhere in the puzzle, and each letter corresponds to a number from 1-26.  If the letter A corresponds to 1 in this puzzle (it doesn't) then an A goes in every box with a number 1.

2) All of the answers in the puzzle are somehow geocaching related ... for example, some part of the game, something you might see on the trail, or see written in a log or in the forum.  Answers can consist of one or more words, or could be abbreviations.  No punctuation or spaces appear in the puzzle.  One of the abbreviations might be a little obscure, but shouldn't slow you down.

Solve the puzzle and determine which number goes with each letter.

The cache will be waiting at:

 North (A+Z+W+S) (O+G+E) . ((I*(X-Z)+Q+B)

 West (L+N+V+Y) (D+J-U) . (C+F+H+M+P+R+K+T)
