Der Grundstein für den heutigen Hüttenbetrieb auf der Sanon legte die Oma Isolde Kostner, genannt Lolli. 1965 hatte sie die Hütte samt Grundstück gekauft und dann nach und nach begonnen für die Gäste zu koche, einfache Gerichte wie Knödel, Würstel und Gulaschsuppe. „Die Oma war auch Unternehmerin“, erzählt Enkel Daniel, „sie hat gleich nebenan einen Skilift gebaut.“
Ihr Sohn Raffael entwickelte neben dem Sinn für die Hütte eine weitere Leidenschaft – er wurde Bergführer. Und nicht nur das. Er gründete eine eigene Bergrettungsgesellschaft, die „Aiuta Alpin“, eine freiwillige Bergrettungsgesellschaft, deren Gründungssitz die Sanon-Hütte ist. Ab 1986 hatte er es organisiert, dass immer ein Hubschrauber zur Verfügung steht. Seine Ehefrau Magdalena führt heute die Küche der kleinen Hütte mit der gleichen Hingabe wie einst die Oma Lolli. „Das war nicht immer leicht“, erzählt Daniel. „Die Mama hat die Bratkartoffeln gewendet und nebenher die Bergrettung koordiniert und in Krankenhäusern angerufen, dass wieder ein Hubschrauber zu ihnen unterwegs ist.“ Inzwischen bleibt der Magdalena mehr Zeit für Ihre Gäste – ihr Mann Raffael verfügt inzwischen in Moraves über eine eigene Einsatzzentrale für die Bergrettung.
