Sheffield Park
This cache was originally part of the 2014 JaxParks Challenge.
Since Geocaching and parks kind of go hand in hand, we decided to keep this cache around for you to continue to enjoy!!
GeoCache Description:
Cachers are seeking a small screw top container hidden on the southeast corner of the lake along the lake loop trail. A short walk across level ground on the trail all the way until the last 20 feet before the cache. Watch for thorns and banana spiders as you root around for the hidden treasure.
Park History
Acquired in 2003, this 385 acre former dairy site is currently in design for a regional park. At final build out, the park will contain soccer fields, baseball and softball facilities, a community center and pool, skateboard park and trails. Two large ponds compliment the site and will be used for small boating and fishing activities.
