Stop and listen to the spruces swaying in the wind, creaking and groaning and singing, it's a musical cacophany! It thrills me so to be here as the wind whips above, with a symphony all around. And the mossy stone is neat, too. And look at the little birches growing up all around. In late fall, winter and early spring this area is much darker than the surrounding forest, but in summertime, when the shade leaves come out, it's a different story altogether.
This hide's a short distance off a really sweet little trail. Please respect the moss and keep off the stone, the ones near Balance Rock are good for climbing.
