Geocache Description:

FIN Kätkölle mennessäsi pääset tutustumaan Padasjokelaiseen kulttuurimaisemaan. Nyystölän kylässä on ollut asutusta jo esihistoriallisella ajalla ja kylää halkova tie on peräisin keskiajalta. Kätkö on Nyystölän enteisen vanhainkodin maisemissa. Nostalgiaa tulviva rakennus oli valmistuessaan 1951 sen ajan mittapuun mukaan yksi pohjoismaiden suurimmista lajissaan. Talon toiminta kunnalliskotina päättyi vuonna 1993. Kätkölle on nykyisin majatalona toimivan kiinteistön omistajan lupa. Kätkön viereen pääsee autolla. Purkissa on ainoastaan lokikirja ja kynä. Kulkijoita purkkiin ei mahdu.

ENG The cache is located in the village of Nyystölä. In Nyystölä there has been known settlement already in prehistoric time. The medieval road from Padasjoki to Maakeski leads your way to the cache which is situated near the old retirement home. The home was built in 1951 by the municipality of Padasjoki. It was one of the biggest in Nordic countries by the standards of that time. The house ceased it’s operations in 1993 and since then the building has served as a guesthouse. For logging You can park just beside the cache. In the container there is only a logbook and a pencil. No room for travelers.
