This cache location has many signifigant memories. When we were little we had picinics here and played golf. In the winter it was a favorite place to sled ride and have snowball fights. Some of us went to St. James Catholic school and all of us were members of St. James church growing up. This cache is placed here also to remember our veterans. We have four family bricks in place, maybe you can locate them, Richard J. Wheway Sr. (Pop), John T. Elliano Jr. (Uncle Buddy), John T. Elliano Sr. (Papa) and Alice A.Robison (Auntie Al).
The reason for placing this cache is in memory of Joseph M. Wheway Jr., the youngest of seven children. He loved God, his country and his family. He spoke of this monument often. It was a place he loved to sit and think.
In the box to start are things that remind us of Joey.
Pennies from his birthyear. Snoopy stickers(because he was Joe Cool), Sticker of monkey that says think geek(Joey was an admitted geek), a lincoln/kennedy penny(i gave him one when i was 7 because i didnt have a job and he shared his birthday with President Lincoln), Memorial white gloves, army men, Flag sticker, star necklace pendant, Religious pendant(he gave it to his religion teacher when he was a youngster, the son of the teacher added it to the cache), marbles, racecar, various stamps, he like to collect, a parachute guy, a raincoat from the funeral parlor, a whiffle ball because we LOVED to play in the back yard....and back lot, a.k.a. Nin's Treasure Chest is hidden there..take a look! Btw, Nin is Joey's mother.
Last but not least there is a Trackable Flag we placed in this cache. May in make it's journey to Texas and South Carolina, where sadly Joey was not able to travel but intended too shortly before his passing.
