It was a rainy camping trip and I wanted to introduce my very bored neices to a new activity that my daughter's boyfriend had told me about. So I installed the free version of the Geocache app and away we went. We found our first treasue and loved it so much that we decided to create and place our own cache. After scouring our beloved camping spot here at Sampson State Park we found a location we think is pretty good. We hope you have as much fun on your quest as we've had creating it! Special thanks to Chistopher Hall for introducing us to this fun game!
From the camping loops turn left after the recreation center/camp office. Follow the road until you find a bear shaped rock blocking the path on your left, turn down that path. Next you will find a mowed path going into a cedar grove on your right and it is now time to leave the pavement. Bonus-if you're here at the right time of year you may find some tasty black raspberries along the path.
