From the mile 0 Cairn in Lillooet drive north on Main Street and turn left onto Hwy 40 for 8 km and cross over the Bridge River and turn right onto West Pavilion Road. Follow for 11.5 km and cross the cattle guard. Park to the right of the cattle guard. Hiking trail starts here.
Well that pesky Humpty Dumpty thought that there were some that wanted to venture even further up the mountain, so he wedged himself between the humps of his camel and headed up the mountain until he found a nice little mini wall he could sit on.
It's a fairly substantial hike that takes you past the Gold Country Camelsfoot Peak Trail cache, as well as several others along the way. There are some great viewpoints along the way, and some amazing 360 degree views at the peak ...bring a camera! The cache is not in a dangerous spot, but there are some drop offs close by ...please be careful if hiking with the kiddos! If you are hiking during the summer months, remember that it can get very hot in this area ...it was 41C (106F) the day I hid it ...bring lots to drink!
Remember these woods are home to bears and rattlesnakes ...be animal aware!
Congrats to geopig & joyful22 on your FTF!
