The name is misleading. This hide is not in a tree. I named it after a nearby hideout spot that my friends and I used when were little kids. At that time clear trails went through the woods to the tree, as we went there daily as a meeting up point, hide out, or for whatever trouble we could get into.I had not been there in 20 years, but was out walking with my daughter and stopped by a few summers ago to find that someone had lit the tree on fire at some point. It still stands, and is not nearly as exciting or big as I remembered it as a kid in my pre-teen years. My intention was to place this hide there, but the poison ivy and my 5yr old partner in crime led me to this location instead. (You're welcome!)
If you want to visit the tree itself, put on some long pants and head to 39.032829, -84.391950. Again, there is no hide at that location....only our forgotten hideout spot at the tree in the woods.
The hide is located at another location we frequented for other trouble making pourposes, and should be an easy find. I put some swag into the cannister, so bring something to leave and also bring a pen (the canister isn't big enough for a pen). Nobody likes those "log only" caches.
