(This murder mystery cache series is done in multiple parts for both an epic feel of solving a mystery and most importantly, more smileys! The series will contain traditional, multi, puzzle, letterbox, and challenge caches. After the first cache, the following caches may be done in any order.)
Mark Well just moved to a new community after a job change. That meant that he had a plethora of new caches to find. This also meant there was a brand new geocaching community waiting for him to get to know. There didn't seem to be any scheduled events, so he got right down to business and started finding caches. Over time, he slowly began to meet the other area geocachers just by running into them while caching or seeing trackables on vehicles. Then the unimaginable happened. Mark was murdered! His body was found near a cache location. Could one of the area geocachers be the cause of this gruesome crime? That is for you to solve! In the ongoing investigation it will be your job to find out exactly why Mark was murdered.
As the story develops, you will question suspects, find evidence, and look for clues. But the suspects aren't going to just sit around and wait for you to interrogate them in this mystery. Some will avoid you, others will try to run, a few may go into hiding, but most will be out geocaching! Starting here is the first step in the mystery. Afterwards, it is up to you how you will carry out your investigation. You may question suspects or examine evidence. However, the suspects will not discuss any evidence you may have found. It may be prudent to question the suspects first.
Description of Container and Location:
Regular size camouflage plastic container with a little swag to start. There is also laminated clues inside the cache. You should copy this information or take pictures, but do not take the laminated clues from the cache. They need to stay in the cache for the next investigator. There is a pen and log book in the container. The log book is double bagged for protection. Please, be a good cacher and make sure the log is protected from the elements by double bagging it. There was a pen in the container when I hid it, but I can't guarantee there is still one in there.
There is no real nearby parking. I recommend parking on the same side of the road as the Welcome to Port Byron sign. There is a little grassy area there that could hold one car. There are no parking signs posted across the street, so I wouldn't park there.
