This cache is at the beginning of the Silvis Lakes Trail head, it is more of a road than a trail up to Lower Silvis Lake and then there is a semi improved trail to Upper Silvis Lake. Both lakes are dammed and supply water via a pipeline to the Beaver Falls power plant. There is a lot of wildlife in the area including black bear, deer, mountain goat and birds.
As you start your journey on the service road there is a log book to sign into and a map stand with trail and wildlife information. You have the chance to log a cache in this location. The cache is a small camoed bottle with a log and pencil, not much room for trading items. The road to the lower lake is about 2 miles and it's another mile to the upper lake. From there you can hook into other trails that take you along the ridgelines. At the lower lake there is a restroom ( with another cache hint, hint) and 2 picnic tables to rest and enjoy lunch. If you have binoculars with you, look towards the hill tops and spot the goats walking along.
