I love the Detroit Lake State Recreation Area and I like supporting the State Park system; Mongold is a day-use park that is part of the Detroit Lake SRA. Located on the north shore of Detroit Lake, Mongold has a public boat launch with a grass beach and picnic tables scattered around nearby. There is a four-lane boat ramp open in the summer to launch your watercraft and two lanes are open in the winter. I was motivated to make this hide after paying my $5, but failing to find the cache I came looking for. When I walked back to my car I realized the park was big enough for another cache so I looked to see what I had with me and this one came about. Please be gentle with GZ or the integrity of the hide will be compromised! You are looking for a micro, but not a nano (there isn't anything magnetic at GZ anyway). I think this will be very easy for some, maybe not so much for others so I'm bumping it up half a star of my original intention. You do NOT need to go down the slope!
