Geocache Description:

Mapperley reservoir was constructed in the early 1820's to assist in the feeding of the now disused Nutbrook Canal, which opened in the 1790's to link the collieries at West Hallam and Shipley with the Erewash Canal. The reservoir is now a valuable wildlife and recreation feature. This cache is third in a series of three along the footpath around Mapperley Reservoir, which have been set by our boys, following a route we walk & enjoy on a daily basis.

A small clip top box in a camo bag. Placed with the kind permission of Shipley Country Park and set by our youngest son Jacob, within the boundary of the public footpath to place his green racing tracker, which will compete with his brothers to travel the furthest before Christmas Day 2014. Original contents; Log book, Pencil, Norman Price, Jess the Cat and most importantly Green Racing Tracker at the start of its journey. Stealth will be required as this footpath is frequented by muggles & their dogs.
