Ah now North Cheriton cemetery, what a small and strange place. A tiny triagnular patch of ground with a grade II Chapel in the centre. It certainly makes for a strange sight as you whizz down the A road.
However it seems to have an even stranger and ghostly reputation that you would expect, for the graveyard is indeed haunted. Haunted not by one of the residents but rather by the un-quite soul of a participant of the Battle Sedgemoor who died on the spot long before the cemetery came into being.

The ghost of North Cheriton is that of a soldier who fought at the Battle of Sedgemoor, back in 1685. The Battle of Sedgemoor was fought on 6 July 1685 and took place at Westonzoyland near Bridgwater in Somerset, England. It was the final battle of the Monmouth Rebellion and followed a series of skirmishes around south west England between the forces of James Scott, 1st Duke of Monmouth and troops loyal to James II.
Victory went to the royalists and about 500 prisoners were fell into their hands. Monmouth escaped from the battlefield but was later captured and taken to London for trial and execution. Many of Monmouth's supporters were tried during the Bloody Assizes. Many were transported abroad, while others were executed by drawing and quartering.
However quite a few of Monmouth's troops escaped into the area, all the while being hunted by Royalists, as they desperately tried avoid summary execution. Sadly for the ghost of North Cheriton he was run to earth on the spot where the cemetery now stands.
These days it is say by "them who do say", that his ghost is often seen walking up the main road between the graveyard and the church in the watches of the night, so you late night cachers you have been warned.
The cache your looking for is behind the bus stop and is a small tube.
