C&O & CO. - Empty Nest Traditional Cache

"The C&O Trail offers a short, paved route through Merrillville. The trail is on a diagonal; its northwest end begins at the Innsbrook Country Club, then the trail dives into the trees, where it stays for most of its journey. It pops out at John A. Stefek Park in a residential area and continues to Broadway, a busy commercial street. Along the way, there's a quaint pedestrian bridge over Turkey Creek."

We recently discovered this trail while out scouting locations and picking up some caches. We were so inspired by our findings that we simply HAD TO bring other GeoCachers to this part of town for a nice little walk ~ and maybe some adventure! Grab your walking sticks, your GPS and your bug spray and enjoy the scenery. (May be best during daytime hours or be sure to have a flashlight with you).

Just a short detour will reward you. This one is equipped with a hitchhiker. Feel free to take and leave bugs and swag. After all, that's what a trail is for. Right?
