Near this location is a statue of a moose. It is a really nice statue, and I think everyone in town really appriciated it when it was put up.
There are those, however, that are bent on destroying anything of beauty. While obtaining permission to hide this cache, it's owner told us the story of some individuals that tried to steal it by tying it to their car and attempting to drive away with it. Underestimating the power of CONCRETE, all they accomplished was breaking the antlers off along with some other damage to the moose, and their car I would assume.
The owner contacted the original artist, but replacing it was deemed impossible. A different artist was hired to restore it back to original, and it is now back to it's original condition.
There are a lot of other nice displays in this area, and it would be worth a few of your minutes to walk around and check them out.
