My Friend Jack is one of our three horses.
He is a standardbred, which is the breed used for harness racing.
In Jack's early years, he raced and won here at Ballarat's Bray Raceway.
When his racing career ended, he was rehomed with us for a new career in endurance riding (which is like marathon running for horses).
In 2006, Jack completed Australia's championship endurance ride - The Tom Quilty Gold Cup - 100 miles in one day.
Following this achievement, Jack was invited back to Bray Raceway to lead out the races at the Breeders Crown Carnival.
In harness racing, to ensure the correct horse is running, standardbreds are freeze-branded on the right side of their neck.
To solve this puzzle, you will need to find out how to read the freezebrand.
