Geocache Description:

Wichita East KDOT Fishing Lake

This lake is part of the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism's Urban Fishing Program. The cache is a cammo'ed matchstick container with a log only so BYOP! There's a black bison tube waiting for the FTF!

This will require special tools in order to retrieve!

Come visit Wichita East KDOT Fishing Lake - a nice 10 acre lake stocked year round with catfish and trout. You can also find some crappie, bass, bluegill, sauger and saugeye. This is such a nice place to fish that I suggest you toss a POLE into your vehicle and come prepared with some patience!

Parking is available in a parking lot north of the lake. While mowing does occur, the grass and weeds are thick so the trail will be uneven. There can be some poison ivy, but you can avoid it by staying on the trail. You will not need to cross any fences nor climb any trees. Watch for fishermen in the area as this can be a very busy spot. You won't have to worry about any thorns with this cache and I recommend attempting this during daylight hours.
