A Day at the Office Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

AlternateRoute: Almost 18 years to the day after placing this cache, I have decided to archive it. I went to do maintenance on it this week and replaced the first WP that had been destroyed in the bushfire and went to check on the cache itself. Although the cache area was untouched by fire, the cache was missing, and tremendous damage had been done to the surrounding pagoda. Lots of the delicate ironstone platforms near the cache head been smashed and pushed off the cliff.
To protect this delicate landscape, I have decided not to replace the cache. Thanks to all how found the cache I hope you found this part of the country as inspiring as I did.

Geocache Description:

A Day at the Office

On the plateau of Newnes,
Far away from the dunes
Locations are hard to compute.
On a road never crossed,
‘Cept by folk who are lost
Is a cache placed by Alternate Route.

This is the first cache I have planted, so please be gentle.
Having formerly been a professional tour guide, the Blue Mountains were my “office” for a while. This cache is office themed and is full of pens, notebooks, staplers etc.

It is a now a two stage cache. Solve the puzzle at the first waypoint and you will find the location of the final waypoint.A rigid A4 folder (or similar hard surface) might help you solve the puzzle more quickly.

You can drive to within 50m of both points, but you will need a 4WD for the final approach to the cache. If you have a 2WD go as far as the steep descent and then it is only a few hundred metres to walk.
