Unfortunately there's been some continuing issues with this cache and there is no reaction from the owner. Since the cache no longer meets the Guidelines requirements, I am archiving it. I'm also archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If you think you have legitimate reasons for lack of maintenance and want to restore the cache in the near future, please let me know as soon as possible by the email provided in my profile. The message must include the GC code and the name of the cache. If the cache meets the requirements of the Guidelines and the reasons for unarchiving are justified, I may unarchive the cache.

IMPORTANT:
In case of permanent archiving of the cache, the owners are obliged to remove everything that they have placed on the field in relation to the cache (container and all placed waypoints).

Placed on a sunny sunday when me and my boyfriend went to watch horse races..I recomend it to every1 who has time and will. This was my first horse race ever and it was an unforgettable experience. For all of you interested in visiting Belgrade horse race while picking up caches I am placing a link to Hippodroms 2014 program where you can find dates for this years races. Enjoy! :)

Racecourse at ‘Careva Cuprija’ is the oldest sports facility in Belgrade. By the Decree of King Alexander dated 15th November 1920, the Danube Riders’ Circle ‘Knez Mihajlo’ was alloted the state land free of lease for a period of 75 years, "for the purpose of fulfilling the need for the permanent racetrack for public horse games". The Decree was published in the Official Gazette number 272 on 7th December 1921. This was the year when the first gallop Derby race and the first City of Belgrade race were held and since then, they have become traditional. In September 1930 the first unofficial trotting races took place on the racetrack.

By the regulation of Ministry Council dated 3rd September 1934 the same land was leased to the Danube Riders’ Circle for a period of 75 years with a fee of 1 (one) dinar per year, under the conditions provided by the resolution of the Lord Minister of Forestry and Mining - number 13.576 dated 11th July 1934. The management of the racecourse was abolished in 1949, after the nationalization. The hippodrome was named ‘Belgrade Racecourse’. On several occasions, it changed the legal status and activity, until finally by the decision of the City of Belgrade it changed its form of organization into PE ‘Belgrade Racecourse’ on 29th February 2008.

Starting from February 2008, the Belgrade Racecourse has become a public enterprise owned by the City of Belgrade. The main tasks facing the company are the organization of competitive season, maintenance of the green and park areas and organizing various actions concerning the popularization of horsemanship and equestrian sports. We are also very engaged in many social responsibility programs: we have started holding hippotherapy, we have regular cooperation at recreation and riding schools with persons with disabilities, we popularize riding as recreation and sports in collaboration with schools and the like. From year to year, we are successfully trying to introduce new contents to the racetrack, whether it is the improving of space for which maintenance we are in charge of or the new investment or any recreation program. Through its taking part in the ‘Mediterranean Cup’ program, PE ‘Belgrade Racecourse’ began to develop fine and important international relations as well. We hope soon to restore the old glory of this important urban area and the institution which is the Serbian development center of the horsemanship and equestrian sports.
