Geocache Description:

This cache brings you to the historic BRAVO Battery Hawk Missile launch pad site from the Cuban Missile Crisis era. An R/C Park has repurposed some of the grounds since being shut down by the ARMY. Please be respectful of the area and enjoy the views. I included a print out of the history behind this area for you to enjoy.

This is one of my favorite "SECRET" places in Key West to go for a walk, bird watch or watch airplanes take off and land. With a "Central Park" like location, it's vacant feel can offer a nice and quiet place to hang out. Please be respectful of this area and PLEASE POST PICTURES!!!

This is one of four missile sites in the lower Keys area.

*This cache container used to be a BIG ammo can full of goodies hidden near the GZ coords. BUT I recently have changed it to a cheap plastic jug in the same spot due to being muggled. So for anyone reading this PLEASE HIDE THE CACHE WELL SO IT DOES NOT GET STOLEN. PLEASE take care in rehiding the container once found by covering with leaves and sticks. Next time this one gets stolen I'm shutting it down. This cache is so far from muggle activity there is no excuse for lazy re-hiding of the cache. Do everyone that visits this cache in the future a BIG favor by HIDING IT WELL. THANKS!!!
