Take route 191 to the Appalacian Trailhead at approximately N 40°56.130 by W 075°11.816. No big signs greet you; just park in or around the small parking lot across from the radio tower. Sunny weekend afternoons may find the lot nearly full, so I recommend a morning hike.
Head west on the trail, following the white blazes. Thirty to thirty five minutes at a vigorous hiking pace takes you to the base of the rocks. Climb up and enjoy the view, then make for the cache. To minimize environmental impact, try to stay on the AT as long as you can (the rocks are blazed) before veering off in search of the loot. The ground you will cover is very rocky, but hopefully I've succeeded in placing the cache where you can reach it without smashing through alot of underbrush. Your target is an old ammo can.
The first person to reach this cache will find a carefully packaged, mint condition 1923 Silver Dollar (some tarnish, but still quite fetching). There is no obligation to replace this with an object of equal worth. There is also a copy of "Weird New Jersey" magazine (reflecting my taste for the off-beat). If you take it, please replace it with something equally steeped in weirdness. And there is miscellaneous other stuff as well. Enjoy the hike, and remember to "Cache In, Trash Out".
