This is another spot that I think few people know about.  Longview Point at Willow Springs Park.  The historic area is know for its spring, that was used as Long Beach's first water source in 1882.  It was also surrounded by a willow tree forest. The hilltop is covered with a map that's made of tumbled glass and crushed granite. The map was designed by a local artist named Steve Elicker.  You can enjoy a nice quiet walk with your dog on a short trail or have a seat with a picnic lunch and enjoy the airplanes overhead, the beautiful smell of all the sage bushes, and the view of the city. The park hours are dawn to 8 pm So take a little walk on the dusty trail which leads to the cache and watch out for grasshoppers and lizards... Oh my!  Enjoy!
