Event is a navigational run through the Beerburrum State Forests. The event will be points based, starting from 12:00 Saturday, however people will be camping from Friday through to Sunday at Coochin Creek Campground (off Roy's Road).
Requirements -
- High Clearance 2WD or 4WD vehicle.
- Fully Comprehensive Insurance (for all participating vehicles - not for camping)
- GPS (with Trip meter functionality).
- At least a 2 Person Crew (one to drive, one to navigate).
- Observation Skills.
- Social Skills.
The event will be navigated by way of 'Tulip' diagrams, with periodic wayppoints to confirm your location (so you don't wander too far off track). There will be observational clues on the way around, so you will need to keep your eyes on.
There are a couple of break off - and rejoin points, if you need to go for a refuel or stock up on snacks, although I would recommend that adequate of both, be carried on board throughout the event.
There is also a creek immediately adjacent to the campsite, with canoe launching platform at the camp, plus a boat ramp closeby. Maybe a Sunday morning paddle might be in order too.
There are numerous Geocaches nearby, which we will attempt (if you have not already) done, and there may even be a cache launched on the day.
Camping is limited, so I would recommend booking as soon as possible, all sites are nominated at time of booking.
