Gospa od Karmena
Do zaselka Karmen i crkve Gospe od Karmena može se stići, dvama pravcima: lijevim odvojkom od kolnog puta za selo Ruskovići ili pješačkom stazom iz zapadnog dijela Orebića. Pješački uspon počinje u predjelu zvanom Škvar, pokraj gostionice , "Karmen". Obilježena staza ide ravno prema sjeveru, zatim okreće lijevo i prolazi pokraj zaselka Viskovići, te vodi ravno pred crkvu Gospe od Karmena. To je stara župna crkva sagrađena u prvoj polovici 17. stoljeća, s glavnom svetkovinom 16. srpnja. Južno od crkve je rustična lođa, gdje su se nekad održavali narodni skupovi. Oko crkve su stoljetni čempresi, nekoliko od rijetko očuvanih u Dalmaciji. Pedesetak metara sjeverozapadno od crkve nalaze se ruševine Dvora trsteničkoga kapetana, popularno zvanog knez, iz prve polovice 14. stoljeća. Za vrijeme Dubrovačke Republike knez je bio predstavnik dubrovačke vlasti u ovom kraju. Južno od crkve pješačka staza vodi do zaselka Karmen.
Our Lady of Karmen
You can reach the settlement of Karmen and the Church of Our Lady of Karmen by two routes: the left turnoff of the road from the village Ruskovici or the walking trail from the western part of Orebic. The walking trail begins in the section of town called Skvar, near the restaurant 'Karmen'. The marked trail heads directly north, before turning left and passing by the village Viskovici and heading straight towards the Church of Our Lady of Karmen. This old parish church was built in the first half of the 17th century and celebrates its patron saint day on 16 July. Just south of the church is a rustic loggia, where gatherings of the locals used to be held. There are hundred year old cypress trees around the church, some of the few preserved such trees in Dalmatia. Fifty metres northwest of the church are the ruins of the Court of the Trsteno Captain, popularly called the Governor, from the first half of the 14th century. During the days of the Dubrovnik Republic, the Governor was the representative of the Dubrovnik government in these parts. South of the church, the walking trail continues on to the village of Karmen.
Muttergottes von Karmen
Zum Weiler Karmen und zur Kirche der Muttergottes von Karmen können Sie aus zwei Richtungen gelangen: Auf der linken Abzweigung vom Fahrweg zum Dorf Ruskovici oder auf dem Fußpfad aus dem Westteil von Orebic. Der Aufstieg beginnt in dem Skvar genannten Gebiet, neben der Gaststätte "Karmen". Der markierte Weg führt direkt in Richtung Norden, dann biegt er links ab, am Weiler Viskovici vorbei, und endet direkt vor der Kirche der Muttergottes von Karmen. Das ist eine alte, in der ersten Hälfte des 17. Jahrhunderts erbaute Pfarrkirche. Die Kirchweih wird am 16. Juli gefeiert. Südlich der Kirche befindet sich eine rustikale Loggia, wo einstmals Volksversammlungen abgehalten wurden. Um die Kirche herum stehen hundertjährige Zypressen, einige der erhaltenen seltenen Exemplare in Dalmatien. Fünfzig Meter nordwestlich von der Kirche befinden sich die Ruinen der Residenz eines Kapitäns aus Trsteno, populär als Rektor bezeichnet, aus der ersten Hälfte des 14. Jahrhunderts. Zur Zeit der Republik Dubrovnik war der Rektor der Vertreter der Dubrovniker Regierung in diesem Gebiet. Südlich der Kirche führt der Wanderweg bis zum Weiler Karmen.
