Little Ella's Farewell Dinner is an event with a related cache run.
- the event - to get credit, simply join us between 6 and 7:30 pm for dinner at Country Cousin in Centralia where we will celebrate the great run for the Little Ella caches.
- the related cache run - for a day of fun, you can spend the day with a group of cachers finding and removing (for archival) the caches in the Little Ella series before stopping at the event.
Q: What is happening?
A: This event is one of two events with optional activities related to the old train bridge caches in both Lewis and Pacific counties. September 20 relates to those in Lewis County, and September 21 continues with those in Pacific County. (visit link) You pick and choose how to be involved. One or both days. Do the cache runs or just go to the events. Your choice.
Q: What are the Little Ella caches?
A: They are the series of caches placed on former train bridges starting in Chehalis, going west to the Lewis County line. They tell the story of Little Ella's adventures while traveling from home in Chehalis to visit her uncle and aunt in Raymond.
Q: We're celebrating their archival? Why?
A: The entire trail corridor is now a State Park and all caches along the trail will now require special permission for placement, including those already in place. Rather than making multiple visits far from home to obtain the necessary approvals, I have decided it is time to open the spots for new caches.
Q: What will happen at the event?
A: We will celebrate a great 8-year run for these caches. There will be a drawing for some of the archived containers. You will be given a booklet with Little Ella's complete story.
