Geocache Description:

There are some trading items, log book and pencil in this cache.

There is a painted "Bumble Bee"rock for the FTF!

Congrats to "MeEtc and WiFi902" on the FTF!

Please do not pick up shells from the beach or snails and put them in the caches. Just as easily as you found them, so can others. Thank you.

You can find fossils at the beach below the gravel parking lot to your left while walking off the Tancook wharf. As you walk along the shoreline to this cache take time to gaze at the fossilized corals and shells as you walk along the way. I find the patterns fascinating the way they form layered and patterned designs. You'll see why this place is called Fossil Beach. You may even be lucky enough to find a treasure from long ago. The shores of Tancook Island have been recognized as one of the sites where many cube-shaped crystals of iron pyrite (fool's gold) can be found. Scour this shore, known locally as Fossil Beach, to find some of your own. It won't make you rich, but it also won't make you a fool.

When you reach your destination, you will notice a neighbouring pond. It was a favourite skating pond among the young people during the 1960's and 1970's.
