On April 3rd, 2012 a tornado came through SW Arlington. One of the buildings severly damaged in this storm was St. Barnabas UMC. My wife and son were in the church's pre-school when the tornado came through. While there were no physical injuries to them, that day remains an emotional memory. The roof was ripped off, the windows exploded, and there was flooding and a gas leak.
One of the pictures that summed up the strength of the storm, was the 'Broccoli Tree'. A tree that was ripped up and thrown into the exterior preschool wall with a few branches embedded. This cache is located just west of the Church and the area where the tree was located prior to that day.
