Geocache Description:

I noticed this Memorial while shopping and researched the location and history.  Most drive by, not noticing the significance of this historical spot.  In memory of a Reverand, and teacher, with 15 children to his name.  Marker placed in 1923 by relatives.  If you are local, you may be related.

There is a summary of his life in a zip lock.

The monument was moved from origional location, as the school was relocated.  This is not the origional building, and no photos could be identified as the first building. The SC room in the Walhalla library has a history of the Reverand Henry Hardy Penney, written by a relative, Mrs. Ella Dendy Doyle.  Take time to read the students attending the school in 1857-58.  You may be related.  The owner of the property said his grandfather was among them.

First cache was stolen, this is my second placement.
