Initial point is the spot where in 1867 a team of US Geological surveyors hammered a brass marker on top of a cinder cone butte. From this starting point, the US Geological team surveyed the entire state of Idaho.
From the top you will have on of the best views of the desert and the towns nearby.
Please be careful when visiting, this is a desert area and home to many critters including snakes. Also, this is an undeveloped area, meaning there are no bathrooms or places to get water.
