Geocaching Southland's Night Caching Extravaganza Event Cache

Geocaching Southland celebrates International Geocaching Day 

To celebrate International Geocaching Day (16th August 2014) Geocaching Southland has organised a get together followed by some nighttime caching fun.  This will give you the opportunity to collect some of the August Challenge Souvenirs on your GC.com profile.  

We will commence festivities at 4PM with a chat and catchup over a brew and bikkie before heading out in to the growing darkness for some fun in the dark. This will be followed by a Potluck Dinner and more time to catch up, make plans and pass on knowledge and ideas.

Where:  Muratangi Scout Camp - 436 Dunns Road, Oreti Beach, Southland

When:   16th August 2014

Time:    1600hrs or 4.00pm

You will need to be prepared:

1. for any weather conditions and wrap up warm,
2. bring your torches,
3. sturdy footwear as ground can be rugged,
4. GPS or smart phone (most of the area does have cellphone coverage) 
5. you might get a little dirty 
6. And your contribution for Potluck Dinner

We will be based in the Scout Hall with a Multi Fuel Fireplace and Kitchen.  Kitchen has fridge/freezer, ovens, crockery and cutlery for our use.

We have the use of all the Facilities including Bunk Room and Showers.  If you would like bunk room accomodation, please indicate to the organisers number planning on staying overnight.

Plenty of Parking available.  Secure area for children to roam and explore.
