The " Instant Relative Series' PRESENTS
Priscilla and Uriah Gordon
Our family and the Gordons are related, though I do not know the exact tracking pattern to follow. Most of the Gordons from our side of the family lived in and around the Metamora area.
Uriah Gordon was born in Fleming Co, KY. He was the son of John Gordon (1779 – 1841), and his wife Anna Montague were the first Gordons to settle in Rush County. Uriah and his brothers and sisters moved to Rush Co, IN with his parents in the fall of 1822.
Uriah and Pricilla were married and had three children.
Priscilla was the daughter of the Rev Gabriel C McDuffee, pioneer minister of the Church of the Disciples, who moved from Bourbon Co, KY to Rush Co, IN, and there established three churches of that denomination. Her mother was Priscilla (Evans) McDuffee.
The " Instant Relative Series " is a means to connect stories with names, lives and memories of intriguing people from the past. IR Series has been created because of my interest in history, genealogy research, people, and Geo-caching. Instant relatives are not related directly to our family, BUT who knows? The goal is to geo-cache cemeteries in order to share stories which will entertain, educate and on occasion, provide a little humor. If one should find inaccuracies within information as posted, please email and corrections will be completed as necessary
