A quick cache with a spectacular view of Mount Katahdin and some very informational plaques, enjoy!
A small lock 'n' lock that will gladly accept GC's and most TB's right along Route 1 at a scenic turnout. Please use stealth if others are parked here. The informational plaques here are great as I learned several things about the area and I grew up here (I'm not that old!). The one thing I did not see mentioned here was how locals have called this view of the Mountain the "laying down Indian." Take a look (on a clear day, it is nearly 60 miles away) and you can notice the headdress to the south with facial features then a body and legs and finally feet sticking up to the north end of the range.
