The Northern Parula (Setophago americana) is a small warbler common in mature woods near water during the summer. It is one of the few birds that nests in hanging Spanish moss and loss of nest material has been suggested as a reason for its decline in other states. It lays 4-5 white eggs with rufous markings in a wreath along a large end.
