Geocache Description:

Victoria's tragic Black Saturday bush fires in February 2009 led to a renewed focus on community safety. Many townships in high risk areas now have designated spaces that should afford some protection from radiant heat, the biggest killer during bushfire.

Lightning and abandoned campfires are major causes of bushfires in the Grampians. This Geocache is situated at the Neighbourhood Safer Place at Dunkeld, the southern entrance to the Grampians National Park. It is a place of last resort.
