This Geocache is placed in Athalassa national park (A-Thalassa). Thalassa in Greek means "Sea" or "Ocean", and putting the letter A infront of some words creates an opposite meaning, so A-Thalassa means No-Sea!!!
Million years ago, the whole island of Cyprus was lying deep under the ocean, but as millions of years passed by, the island had risen up above the sea level, but then it went again down. According to some studies, this have happened about 7 times in history of earth. That's why many rocks and stones all over the island but mainly arround the area of Athalassa have fossilized shells on them.
If you are attemping this in Winter, you may see small stream rivers flowing under small wooden or rocky bridges, in Autumn, the ground will be covered with brown leaves, in Spring all the scenary will be green and full of "Anemona" flowers, and finally during the summer, it will be the quiest and less hot place in Nicosia
The Cache is a small transparent cylindrical box that used to contain some kind of hand cream, and it has enough room only for the logbook, a tiny pencil and some small trackables
Please leave it excactly as you found it.
