Geocache Description:

English.

After the promulgation of Nantes Edict in 1598, the king Henri the Fourth ordered the building of a temple in the village of Chermont (Currently Nanteuil-lès-Meaux). This building was finished in 1601 and is known as the first Protestant temple in France.

With the revocation of the Nantes Edict in 1685, Louis the Sixteen commanded to destroy this temple. It was finally rebuilt in the early 20th century.
