Geocache Description:

Erected in 1913 this statue in the Village of Haverstraw on Hudson Ave was for the Soldiers and Sailors who served in defense of their country In time of its need.

This medium sized clear container has some small cache and a log. The statue served as a bus stop for years and sitting in front of the statue waiting for the bus was as common as sleigh riding behind it for years during winter months when snow storms would blanket the northeast. Some fresh landscape and benches have revived the statue.
