FORT DOYLE TRENCHES
In 1793 with the outbreak of the French Revolutionary Wars, and a general feeling of instability, the British government sent 300 men to Alderney and they built Fort Doyle.

Named after Lt-Gen Sir John Doyle who was the most distinguished Lieutenant-Governor of the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Fort Doyle was fortified by the Germans during the occupation.
Wn Dohlenfeste, Saline Bay
Covering both Saline and Crabby Bay with 4.7 cm Festung Pak guns, 3.7 cm KwK in tankturrets and Mgs. This small Widerstandsnest is partly being renovated by enthusiastics who re-open the trenches on the southside and refit the Unterstand WaKoFest. One of the two 676s can be found in this Wn and the most beautiful Vf Pak casemate can be found here too.
