The Cache Across America Series: This is a series of caches that will take you on a caching tour of the entire United States. One cache is hidden in each of the 50 states. These caches each contain a numeric clue that will lead you to one final cache located in our nation's capitol upon completion of the series.

About this cache: Water, water everywhere describes Delaware Seashore State Park. Bounded on the east by the mighty Atlantic Ocean, and on the west by Rehoboth Bay and Indian River Bay, the 2825-acre park is a beach-goer's delight.

Throughout history, the forces of wind and water have kept this barrier island largely inaccessible, due to the frequent natural changes of the inlet channel between the bays and the sea. Transportation along this narrow stretch of land was difficult until the Federal government completed construction of two large steel and stone jetties in 1939, stabilizing the Indian River Inlet. The State Park Commission (now the Division of Parks and Recreation) began operating Delaware Seashore State Park in 1965. Today, the park is a major attraction for millions of visitors who enjoy the large variety of water-related activities available along Delaware's coast.

This is a little known area but has gotten popular over the years. The parking for this cache (waypoint below) is a small spot but there is other parking to access the park. It is just off Route 1 near Bethany Beach. At the parking area, there is a kiosk with trail info which will show you the exact route to the point you are going to - pretty strait forward to be honest. The Letterbox is hidden at the base of a tree, not a super challenge. The point is like the original Delaware cache - you have to drive across Delaware to get to it. Lots of great sights and the walk to the cache is nice as well. Feel free to walk just a little further on the path to the beach and enjoy the view. Delaware Seashore State Park is open daily 8 a.m. to sunset. Normal park office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. From April through October, the park office is open seven days a week.

Logging Requirements: Enjoy this cache as you would any other. If you are searching this cache as a participant in the Cache Across America series, please post a photo of yourself or a member of your group with the cache in your online log. If you for some reason are unable to meet the photo requirement, please make alternate arrangements to verify your find with the individual cache owner (make note of secret code on inner lid & notebook). There is no photo requirement for non-challenge participants.

Individual verification of all 50 state finds will be required before logging the series final.

If participating in the series, please take note of the three digit code located inside this cache. Save this code in a secure place. When you have visited all 50 caches, and have collected all 50 codes, you are welcome to seek and find the final cache! Good luck!
