Situated in the longest glaciated valley in the British Isles, the Glenmalure Lodge is a busy guesthouse/pub popular with campers and hillwalkers. Myself and family have until recently spent a few days here every year since 2000, and love the place. You can reach it from Laragh by taking the road to Rathdrum and taking the right turn after the bridge just outside Laragh and travelling over the mountain, or from Rathdrum for a more level approach!
The pub is full of clippings and photos relating to the history of the area. Founded in 1801 it later became the hunting lodge of Lord Meath. The original cache was hidden in the garden with the full permission of the owners. BYOP.
