Geocache Description:

Quick and historic cache in beautiful Castine.   Easy grab and go from the road,  and afterwards perfect for a picnic lunch on the back shore public beach.


One of the many old forts of Castine.  Built in 1814 by the British forces and named after Rear Admiral Edward Griffith,  HMR Navy. Occupied for only one year and abandoned in 1815.
