Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Bridges of Whitchurch Series.  We noticed a while ago that we have more than our fair share and they would create some good hiding places. Some of these can be done as cache and dash or as some nice circular walks in and around the town. Please park responsibly and take care crossing any roads.
This is the last the present series and can be done as part of an approx 3 1/2 mile walk around the North and Eastern side of Whitchurch (Loop #3).  Could also be Cache and Dash.
Leaving BBWB #24, continue on down Test Road until it meets Winchester Street. Turn left and walk the final 50 yards to the bridge. From the bridge you can watch the Ducks, Swans and Brown Trout. You could also visit the Silk Mill.   Whitchurch Silk Mill is the oldest silk mill in the UK still in its original building.  Full of industrial heritage the Mill is a Georgian water mill that weaves silk using 19th century machinery.  It is not known why the Whitchurch Mill was built but it has been producing silk since 1817, when it was bought and converted by a silk weaver from Spitalfields, the heart of the British silk industry.  In its time, and under various owners, the Mill has woven ribbons, serge, silk linings in 22 colours for Burberry and, during World War II, silk for insulating cables. Later, the Mill wove black ottoman and satin for lining legal gowns and even, it was said, cream silk for a scarf, tie and handkerchief for the Kray brothers. You may alo have seen their work in BBC productions such as North and South (2003); Pride and Prejudice (2005); Cranford (2007); Tess of the d'Urbervilles (2008) and Garrow's Law (2009).   http://whitchurchsilkmill.org.uk/mill/index.php

There are also several pubs close by serving good food, so why not take a break, pat yourself on the back for not logging any DNF's and sit back and relax.

The cache is an unusual container and in a high muggle area, hence it's difficulty rating.  Caching with a lookout person is highly recommended, but if you are bold enough, and your timing is right  you could slip in and out without drawing too much attention.  Please don't remove the cache anchor from it's fixed position.

Please take notice of any "Private" signs and do not wander into any places you shouldn't.
We enjoy reading logs, and would love hearing about the adventures you have when finding caches.
