Geocache Description:


This cache is placed at the start of the Googik Track.

The first section of the Googik Heritage Track was officially opened on the 2 July 2014. This is a joint venture between Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and NSW National Park and Wildlife Service. This section runs from Lake Road to Columbia School a distance of 2.8ks

Googik is a Birpai Aboriginal word for Jolly Nose ( Mountain ) a prominant rocky outcrop tothe west of Lake Cathie.

Once completed the track will link Port Macquarie CBD and Lake Cathie via an inland, off road bicycle and walking track.

This cache is placed to complement its natural surrounds.
