Historia
Budynek został wybudowany na przełomie XIX i XX wieku przez Karola Sikorę z Łodygowic. Była to drewniana chata z werandą, z której rozciągała się panorama m.in. na Tatry i Pasmo Babiogórskie. Wewnątrz znajdowała się restauracja z jadalnią, zaś zaplecze noclegowe tworzyły 4 pokoje oraz strych, mogące łącznie pomieścić 30 osób. By zachęcić do odwiedzania schroniska zarówno Polaków jak i Niemców, właściciel umieścił na budynku napis "Schronisko – Schutzhaus – Widok na Tatry" (część nazwy po niemiecku usunięto po 1918 roku).
W 1910 roku zarząd na obiektem przejął oddział PTT z Żywca. W okresie międzywojennym schronisko było chętnie odwiedzane przez polskich turystów, omijających obiekt Beskidenverein na Magurce Wilkowickiej (oba schroniska dzieliło ok. 20 min drogi). Przynętą była też słynna w okolice szafa grająca.
Po śmierci męża gospodarowanie obiektem przejęła Maria Sikora z synem i synową. Schronisko, przetrwawszy II wojnę światową, spłonęło w 1967 roku, najprawdopodobniej w wyniku podpalenia.
Czasy współczesne
W chwili obecnej widoczne są ślady fundamentów schroniska w górnej części polany, znajdującej się przy szlaku 
z Czupla na Magurkę Wilkowicką.
History
The building was constructed at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries by Karol Sikora from Łodygowice. It was a wooden cottage with a veranda, from which there was a panorama including views of the Tatras and the Babia Góra Range. Inside, there was a restaurant with a dining room, and the accommodation consisted of 4 rooms and an attic, which could collectively accommodate 30 people. To encourage both Poles and Germans to visit the shelter, the owner placed a sign on the building reading "Schronisko – Schutzhaus – Widok na Tatry" (the German part of the name was removed after 1918).
In 1910, the management of the facility was taken over by the PTT branch from Żywiec. During the interwar period, the shelter was frequently visited by Polish tourists, who avoided the Beskidenverein facility on Magurka Wilkowicka (the two shelters were about a 20-minute walk apart). The famous jukebox in the area was also a draw.
After the death of her husband, Maria Sikora took over the management of the facility with her son and daughter-in-law. The shelter, having survived World War II, burned down in 1967, most likely as a result of arson.
Modern Times
Currently, traces of the shelter's foundations can be seen in the upper part of the glade, located along the blue tourist trail from Czupla to Magurka Wilkowicka.
