Vallgatan
Mellan åren 1598 och 1605 uppfördes en halvcirkelformad fästningsvall runt Halmstad. Denna anslöt till den tegelmur som byggts utmed Nissan enligt beslut av den danske kungen Christian IV då Halland under denna tid danskt. Vallgatan gick tätt innanför fästningsvallen.
Gatan fick sitt nuvarande namn år 1887. Tidigare namn har varit Woldstreede, Westra Tullports Wallgatan och Westra Wallgatan. Vallgatan har än idag en ålderdomlig prägel med bl.a. småskalig bebyggelse från 1700-1800-talet.
Ta en sakta promenad utmed den smala fridfulla Vallgatan och dröm dig tillbaka till medeltiden. Koordinaterna är som vanligt lite hoppande i tät bebyggelse så stanna upp, gå sakta och låt din gps/telefon hinna mäta in din position.

ENG: Between the years 1598 and 1605 a semicircular rampart was built around Halmstad. The rampart joined to the brick wall built along the Nissan. This was decided by the Danish King Christian IV, as Halland during this time was a part of Denmark. Vallgatan was located just inside the ramparts. The street got its current name in 1887 Previous names have been Woldstreede, Westra Customs Ports Wall Street and Wall Street Westra. Vallgatan has still an archaic character with small-scale buildings from 1700-1800's.
Take a walk along the narrow serene street and dream you back to medieval times. The cache is accessed from the street. The coordinates are as usual jumping into dense development so stay up, go slow and let your GPS / phone time to measure your position.
